Purpose of the Enrolled Nurse Job South Africa
The Enrolled Nurse will be responsible for ensuring the continuation of HIV prevention services, particularly for adolescent girls and young women (AGYW). You will work under the supervision of the Nurse Clinician to support and monitor patients receiving PrEP and other HIV prevention methods.
Availability: Immediate start required.
Minimum Requirements for the Enrolled Nurse Job South Africa Position
- Grade 12 certificate (matric)
- Nursing qualification from a recognised college
- Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a clinical setting
- Computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Fluent in English and isiZulu
- Valid Code 08 driver’s license
- Clear criminal record
Duties and Responsibilities of the Enrolled Nurse
- Build relationships with facility managers, AYFS staff, and institutions of learning
- Collaborate with DBE, DOH, DSD, and community partners
- Identify and map community sites for HIV prevention services
- Maintain a diary system for follow-up with AGYW clients on PrEP
- Ensure continuity of HIV prevention services
- Follow Infection Prevention Control (IPC) standards strictly
- Enforce the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Identify and refer victims of gender-based violence for appropriate care
- Refer AGYW for sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services
- Provide mentorship to HAST counsellors
- Submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required
